December 5th  2022

 

The meeting was called to order by Mayor Tim Meyer. Council Members present Jeremy Waliser, LyDell Mairs, Julie Cole, Ken Williams, and Ben Gemar with Rob Waletzko absent.  Guest presents were  Tim Jordan, Ron Brewer, Chris Sandvig, Lynn Kaspari – Ransom County Gazette, Janna Miller and Tom Jacobson.

Jerry Gemar provided an update on Rose St riverbanks FEMA project.  The permits have been approved; work will not begin until spring.

 

Jerry Gemar gave an update on condemnations; 7th Ave, Don Eppler reported that Fallon Kelly researched, and nothing can be done until the resident leaves the home willingly or forcefully.  602 Oak St, Don Eppler received the certified mail returned to him in the mail.  He will add this to the file.

 

The Executive Properties building permit, no update has been given yet.  Jerry Gemar Code Administrator will reach out and present an update at the next meeting.

 

Don Eppler presented the council and Tom Jacobson with the information he researched about the craft beer event they would like this summer.  Don Eppler reported he found nothing that would stand in the way of this event.

No public report was sent.  Chris Sandvig and Ron Brewer reported that Tom Boehmer is scheduled to come into the water plant next week to do some repairs and maintenance.

Don Eppler to send a letter to Moore Engineering on the levee south of the walking bridge to get more information.

Mayor Meyer gave an update on the Red River Valley Water Supply.

 

During committee reports:

The Public Works Committee announced that they would be meeting on Tuesday, to set up interviews.  Discussion was had that committee would be able to offer the position and announce at council meeting.

The Finance Committee announced that the committee will be providing the council with a quick-glance financial monthly report.

Airport: LyDell reported the project is completed and the runway will be crack sealed next spring.

Housing Authority: Announced they rejected both bids the committee opened on November 30th 2022, they have extended the bid opening until December 14th 2022.
