Three Chapters NCT Hiking Festival
When: May 20 (Friday) – May 22 (Sunday)

Festival Schedule:
Friday: 4:00 PM, Lisbon Historical Hike, Meet at the DPC Kiosk at the Veterans Home, 1600 Veterans Drive, Park in Parking Lot, out and back, 4 miles, Includes a tour of the Scenic Theater, the only continuous running movie theater in America.
Friday: 6:00 P.M., Picnic, Pavilion in Sandager Park. Bring food for yourself and family (no sharing of food).
Friday: 7:30 P.M. Movie, “A Walk InThe Woods” Starring Robert Redford, Nick Nolte, Emma Thompson–$8.00–Thanks to the City of Lisbon we are able to obtain and show this movie in the 111 year old historic Scenic theater.
Saturday: 9:00 AM, Hill and Valley Hike, Meet at the DPC Kiosk at the Veterans Home, park in the adjacent parking lot, out and back, moderate, 4 miles.
Saturday: Noon, Bring your bag lunch to the North Shelter in Sandager Park and enjoy a workshop on “maintaining trail” while eating your lunch.
CHOICE ACTIVITY:
Saturday: 12:45 P.M.: Canoe/kayak the Sheyenne River Water Trail in the Sheyenne National Grasslands (4 or 8-mile paddle dependent on conditions). Participants must bring their own properly-fitting life jacket and register by May 10 with Cory Enger (cory.enger@gmail.com). Also indicate if you will be bringing your own canoe/kayak, or if you will need one provided for you. We will meet at Sandager Park North Shelter following lunch/workshop and caravan together to Ylvisaker Bridge TH (Contacts: Cory Enger and Glee Mayer)
Saturday: 1:30PM: Historic Ridge Hike, Meet at Ranes Bridge (caravan from Sandager Park) and hike to Okiedan Mounds, out and back, moderate, 5 miles.
Saturday: 6:00 PM Dinner ($12.00) at the Market, Downtown Lisbon, followed by a tour of the Historic Opera House at 7:00 P.M.
Sunday: 9:30 AM: Biesterfeldt Historic Site hike, Meet at the West TH which is south of HWY 27 on 141st Ave SE. Experience a National Historic Landmark that intersects with the North Country National Scenic Trail, Old Cheyenne Indian Village (1724-1780), Following the hike, the McLeod Museum (5 miles east on HWY 27) will be open so participants can view a model of a Cheyenne Earthen Lodge.

Sandager Park Campground—Parkway Dr., Lisbon, ND, 58054 (preferred campground as it’s in Lisbon, on the trail, and location of some activities)
Please call Meredith at 701-680-3736 to reserve a campsite. There are 20 sites reserved for us, 10 with full hook-ups and 10 with electricity only. There are also primitive sites for tents.
