February 5, 2024

The meeting was called to order by Mayor Tim Meyer. Council Members present Ken Williams, LyDell Mairs, Jeremy Waliser and Ben Gemar. Guests present were Eric King, Tim Jordan, Jeff Leadbetter, Jerry Gemar, Jordan Matzke, Lynn Kaspari – Ransom County Gazette, Tracy Eslinger – Moore Engineering and Janna Miller; Rob Waletzko via Zoom.

To allow the sale of Lots 9 & 10 of Block 18 in Colton’s 3rd Addition to Jordan Matzke for $50/lot. Purchase will include 50×52.8×17 foot easement. Water and sewer will be checked if ready to connect and cost share discussed if necessary.                                                                                                                                                                                                                 All Aye

To allow Highway 32 between 4th & 5th Ave to be requested closed from the ND DOT for Civic & Commerce Sip & Shop. To put out for bids the resurfacing of the Armory parking lot.                                                                                                 All Aye

To reject the Joint Powers Agreement from the county auditor due to errors. Eric reported that well #2 is up and running. There is a position currently open in the public works department.

Tracy from Moore Engineering reported about the lead free survey they are currently conducting with the City residents. He is also working on the following projects: SCADA system, riprap permitting – 404 permit has been received, Utility improvements and CO2 tank installation.

To approve off-site liquor license for the Lisbon Bissell Golf Course at the Expo on March 16, 4pm-2am. Tim Meyer made the council aware that he spoke with Steve Hanson, rural water and they may be in the near future requesting to place an antenna on the water tower for their metering system.

 

Tim Meyer also announced the election information: petitions due April 8 by 4pm. Date of election is June 11, 2024. There are 3 council member positions open.

Tim Meyer announced that the library is currently looking for a new librarian.
