The meeting was called to order by Mayor Tim Meyer. Council Members present LyDell Mairs, Jordan Matzke and Ben Gemar. Sandy Hoff joined via Zoom. Guests present were Eric King, Jerry Gemar, Jon Oien, Ken Williams, Tyler Hainsworth, Brad Dick, Lynn Kaspari – Ransom County Gazette, Janna Miller, Tracy Eslinger – Moore Engineering and Jeff Leadbetter.

To approve a counteroffer from the owner at 305 Rose St for property $129,000 as the purchase price and they pay the 2024 taxes, City to cover the purchase agreement for $175.00, warranty deed for $175.00, closing fee for $400.00, Owners Title Insurance for $562.50, Recording Fee for $25.00 and Title Opinion for $200.00.                                   All Aye

 

Brad Dick, 101 Oak St, was present to discuss water issues at his property. Public Works will follow up on this.

 

Jeff Leadbetter gave the council an update on the two condemnations in process.

Tracy Eslinger gave updates on the current projects: CO2 tank installation, lift station upgrades, utility improvement project (public meeting early 2025), well replacement, rip rap permitting and elevation certificates which are completed at LBJ addition.

Mayor Meyer congratulated Eric King and the Public Works Department on the Best Tasting Water Award.

Mayor Meyer congratulated Kristina Dick on being named to the NDLC Executive Board.

To approve STAR’s recommendation of a $2,000 grant to The Beauty Lounge for a new wash basin; $3,500 grant and $3,500 loan to Cuddle Bugs Daycare for safety features, AED and outdoor supplies; $10,000 grant and $12,800 loan to Buzy Beez childcare for outdoor turf; $5,000 loan to Shear Perfection for new equipment/services.
